handwritten note: "thanks for the strong application." 0a/0w/7r/0p. i hope you all have sunglasses because when i rise from these ashes, i'm a goddanged firebird. i will burn so bright that y'all had better look away lest i blind you with this turnaround. i'm flaming hot starting today. we are talking scorched earth type of writing here. this is all i plan on doing in the wake of this month. i suggest y'all do the same! make them weep at your comeback! phoenixes, baby! we are phoenixes!

waitlisted at IWW. . . for the second year in a row. :/

Form rejection letter. Not a big surprise, applied to poetry to hedge my bets.

fund= 2100* 9. I will decline it.

3 years of experience in Special Ed / working with SLP's, 1 year teaching English abroad. Was not at all sure if I would be accepted - I'm so excited!

Crazy generous funding at this school. Stoked! Best of luck!

Short, polite form letter. Kind of relieved, as I realized after applying that I was not a good fit for the program. 2r/0a/0w/2p. Not hopeful for the pending 2. Plan B already underway: PAYCHECK-MAN and his faithful sidekick, WINE.

*fart noise* IWW offers non-degree summer workshops which sound pretty cool and not super expensive. PS-I was rejected from all programs last year and basically didn't write for 9 months. If anyone is going thru that now, remember what my mentor said: "Keep writing. That's where all the power lies."

Not shocked. Messy application; only had two LOR's and much of my application was delayed.. 1a/6r/0w/2p

Was kind of hoping for at least a waitlist especially since two of my recs graduated from here. Though I'm pretty sure I know what part of my portfolio killed my chances (wrote my second piece in a month because I forgot that Iowa required two). Oh well. I still have choices, so it's not the end of the world. Still a huge bummer though, I really wanted to go here. 2A/2R/0W/3P

Very good structural bio program. Very beautiful Campus. Very isolated middle of nowhere small college town with a terrain of flatlands for miles and miles around.

the letter said the wait list is short

This is such an honor! The location and price (out of state) are really the only factors holding me back. I visited during Visit Day and really liked it.

Handwritten: Thanks for your application. -S :/
