international but undergrad in US. ML track

Posted on UD application portal. No info on funding yet , but i guess that’ll come out soon.

Invited to the campus visit, but rejected... The prof inviting me is to have a sabbatical with no hiring. Suprised to know... Four years research experience, many projects. 3 publication (1 first author), 1 under review, 2 preprint (both first author)

No publications but had full external funding from prestigious fellowship- so a little surprised

I was really sad when I got the rejection letter as the research group seemed like a perfect match for me. But now I’ve noticed even several candidates with good GRE scores got rejected too, so it seems this year was super competitive.

1 first author journal paper, 4 workshop papers. Out of 5 schools, this one was most aligned with my research background, so the optimism is fading fast :/

Interviewed 3 weeks ago, had a pretty good chat with professor
