Email from professor to set up a phone interview

Interview weekend is Jan 17th

Skype interview with PI before formal interview weekend

Has anyone heard from Rutgers recently? I was told by a professor on their board that I was still in consideration, but they don't know on their end what is happening.

I had sent them an email earlier but I received no reply. Finally they notified me today.

This is for the Newark school. I checked the application portal and it said "your name has been put on a waitlist."

I obviously expect a rejection at this point, but I'd still like to have an official information - did anyone who has not heard yet try to contact Rutgers?

Please decline if you have a better offer, Rutgers is my only shot left.

Had not heard anything until April 15. Called in the AM to confirm rejection as I had another acceptance/waitlist and was trying to make a decision, and received an email around 5:30 PM that a professor would be reaching out that evening. Was offered a position that evening. Guessing they keep their waitlists a secret there. I accepted and will be attending!

Today's third rejection.

Coming down to the wire, but damn. I'm in.
