They said they would email me whether a admission or rejection. It turns out that I didn’t receive any email and I decided to join other graduate program.

Finally got the official rejection. I contacted a professor a week and a half ago and found out no more offers would be extended.

If anybody has been accepted and does not plan to join, earnest request to all to kindly release the offer. It is my last chance :(( Please, please, please

Was on a secondary waitlist (of which I was informed only after inquiring) and knew that admission was extremely unlikely. Was told that the "vast majority" of the applications they receive are for 20th/21st centuries (my area) so it's especially competitive. Nice to have made it this far in the process.

Since I hadn't heard anything, I emailed asking about my application status; got a reply that I'm on a backup waitlist. I wasn't interviewed. Told that offer of admission is unlikely.
