I mailed them asking about the status of my application. They replied by informing me that they will not be able to offer me a place in the program for fall 2021. Informed me that they have received over 220 application and they plan to take 10 students or so.

TTPB: As someone who did not receive any news from the UMD, I am wondering the same thing. You at least have a (slim) chance and was informed of that. I don't understand why they couldn't reject me and others like me until now.

What is going on at UMD? I received a likely letter long ago, and now I'm not so sure that it was a "likely" letter in the first place. I am utterly puzzled.

Heard nothing since the interview. Emailed the program and no response yet. Anyone received an offer? Are you going to accept it? This is my last hope, thanks a lot!

hiiiii i'm just wondering if anyone else who interviewed for UMD's PhD in Gender Studies has heard back yet? In my exit interview, they said it would be by the end of the month and I haven't heard anything : / I'm assuming it's a no at this point, but I'd love to know if anyone else who interviewed has heard anything (also if you did interview, you are amazing! I was so starstruck by everyone on that call- such a shame that they make these programs so elitest/small).

They didn't even bother to send me an email. When I asked the grad co, then she told me that I am rejected.

My status is still under review. Is that the same for other applications?

I firstly received a recommendation email from the professor I contacted and then I received an admission email from the program that I sent my application but not the university. Professor told me that there's sth wrong with the email system and the spring break caused the backing up of admission processing. I am not very sure about the status of my application until I get an official message from the university with the contract. I hope I could get some message before the end of this week. Do you guys meet similar problems?
