Got an email at 2pm. Asked to check the portal. Still cannot believe I'm admitted. Can someone lmk if u also are admitted?

Decision posted on application portal, no email as of now. Still not 100% confident if it is a genuine offer.

Th.D. Program Looks like they interviewed (by Zoom) about 20 people (how many they take depends on the year, as I understand it). Will send decisions "by mid-February."

Interviewed last week. Received unofficial acceptance from one of my POIs.

Thought I didn't put much effort into the application; still got in!

Added to the alternate list. Accepted and trying to remain hopeful.

Received an email notification that a decision was available via the application portal

1a/1r/7p. Saw a stream of rejections being posted so when I got an email, I half knew it was going to be a rejection. Letter was a typical one, saying something like: “The number of well-qualified applicants far exceeds the number of available places. So they are unable to admit all applicants judged capable of successful graduate work.” Surprisingly, doesn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. Maybe because I knew Duke wasn't the best fit?
