Hey, my status is undecided in GARS but in here I just chose the wait-listed to be different, so you can call me the wait-listed man =)) I am aware of the fact that there will be more acceptance since I have contacted the CS dep. and they told me that there are still other students that will get the offer. Another fact that you have to consider is that it is possible that some guys don't accept their offer. Maybe they get a better offer like a Ph.D. from a better country ;-)

I have contacted the PoI and he said there are SEVERAL rounds of admission left! Do not lose hope if your application status has not changed. The number of applications is overwhelming this year and the admission committee is slow a little bit.

TTPB: Thanks for your encouragement but I was curious about couple of questions: (1) You have listed your status as "wait listed". How do you know that? Is it informal or does one of the portals (GSMS etc) says this? (2) Also how do you know about "second round of acceptance"?

TTPB, the results for those who applied by the scholarship deadline can be expected this week. This is because, there will again be a set of applications that will roll in, in the upcoming days that the committee will have to evaluate (Mar 5th I think is the non-scholarship deadline). If you had an interview and felt it went okay, peace. You are probably selected. Fingers crossed. Tricky times ahead.

TTPB: does it mean rejected or waitlisted for those who dont get notice till 3rd of May according to you?

SAD. 3.5 years work experience, 5 publications(2 first author, 3 second author). No interview. "We regret to inform you that we are not able to recommend an offer of admission for the Fall 2020 semester. We received applications from many highly qualified applicants and competition for the limited number of openings is keen. Admission decisions are reached after examining the merits of the applicants as well as determining the availability of faculty advisors matched to your research interests and our research facilities."

Email from admin. This is a punch in the gut. I was invited to the open house but could not make it due to reasons out of my hand, so interviewed with POI through skype, I believed the interview to be promising. I attended the virtual session with students. I have a strong research profile as I've been working as an RA for a while now. Field: NLP. I'm in tears.
