CMT Didn't receive the active considering email. Didn't even receive an email telling me the result is released. Checked the portal myself and found a rejection.

First heard from the department at end of February that I had been recommended to the Grad School for admission and then got two follow up emails from program regarding admitted student information sessions etc. (one mid March and one this past Thursday). The email I received on Thursday let me know: "The Graduate School is now in the process of completing a final review of applications and emailing acceptance letters, so you should hear from them soon." This afternoon I finally received my official acceptance from the Grad School via a check portal email.

Generic email to check the portal, and there it was, the most AWAITED rejection!

I haven't heard anything= which means rejection. Congratulations on those who got admitted on Maryland.

Maybe they have planned to take only domestic students for this term !!

TPB: email from phd program, official letter attached. 35K fellowship and graduate assistantship +1.5k research expense per year. Probably accept. Still wait for another schools.

Very disappointed. They should send the rejection earlier.

TTPB: Thanks, but I am not waiting for a positive response from UMD. I only want their official decision letter so that this admit season ends for me and I can have some closure :-) I have already accepted another offer at a good but (unfortunately) not "great" university, but I guess I have to take whatever I get, especially as an international student.

Emailed PhD office two days ago and got the response that no decisions have been made yet. Deadline is like 10days away... This is crazy

TTPB: By just contacting prof. Cohen there. There was an active consideration email sent out to many applications (far too many to give us hope, but nobody knew how many it was sent to, at the time) in february, and prof. Cohen confirmed that the last of offers have already been sent out. I received my rejection today but I found out informally on Monday. I'm sorry - you may want to consider other potential options. Good luck with everything! This cycle has been rough.

TTPB: I haven't been notified of anything. How exactly did you people learn about your decisions? I want my rejection damn it, are they going to drag those too?

So excited! I accepted this offer. First interviewed was late Feb and two other professors invited me at Mar 31 to another interview to see my fit to their current research. I do not know whether they sent out another offer or someone else accepted. It was so long and nervous period of waiting. It's already April, but something is still going on somewhere guys.
