Only accepting one student this year, PI contacted me a few days ago. Got official notice in the mail.

Full funding for five years, no RA or TA reqiured in the first year

I didn't submit my mGRE results

One of my top choices! I am so excited! I will have to see how funding works, though. It seems like you have to do extra work to apply for a TA-ship, but I will do it.

TPB: Dr. Wu told me that they’re waiting for those 2 admitted students response and whether they are going to accept or not. Are you awaiting for your other applications outcomes? Or you wanna accept?

My first rejection, actually. Feels like a weight off my shoulders to have at least one rejection instead of waiting or a bunch of acceptances and wondering when the first reject will come.

TPB: I am one of the people accepted. I will be keeping Dr. Wu updated about my status and I will continue to update gradcafe. I haven't received the official offer yet, just an email from Dr. Wu saying I was accepted

TTPB - I got OSU a couple of years ago without funding or advisor. I declined the offer citing that I am going somewhere else and they immediately offered me funding for the first year as well as asked me to interview with potential advisors and work it out for the remaining years. If you have a backup place, I would suggest dropping them a mail and securing that first-year funding (they usually hold it back if you don't show an interest).

Email said I was competitive but not enough room. 70 applicants for 10 spots.
