To the person asking below, the deadline for accepting the offer is march 1

The large applicant number and the small number of places were mentioned.

I noticed that most Canadian universities are sneaky in the sense that when you email them before application submission, they show so much interest in one's credentials and encourage you to apply, but after you apply and pay $150ish, you get horribly rejected. In a way, these universities are losing their credibility. Why would Harvard accept me and this university reject me?! McGill is definitely in no way better than Harvard.

170 applicants applied. Only 6 places.

Recommended by department. Official admission would follow within 3 weeks.

Not sure if the McGill poster below is trolling/lying/high on life, but I've emailed the McGill department, my POI, and used the Nimbus portal. No such information regarding "the first round of applications" is available.

To the Mcgill poster below: could you say the deadline for giving your answer to the university? (That would give us an idea of when the next round of waitlist admittance might come out). Thank you.

Email from school recommending for admission by the School. Official notification from the Graduate and Postdoc Studies office within the coming weeks.

Hello! My status online is still on 'submitted', but you could email the grad program coordinator to know more about your application, good luck!

Received an email from the school in uapply saying they have recommended me to the 19 fall MA Music Tech program. I assume this is a piece of positive news?

Application incomplete: One of my referees never sent their letter. Oh well

I received the official offer of admission letter. However, there was no information about funding. I am now waiting for funding info.

To the McGill Poster below, Congratulations! Can you share stats like your score, GPA and location of college?
