I am genuinely shocked I got in here. I'm an international applicant with 2.5 years of experience in market research and a bit of policy research, looking to transition into UX Research. No portfolio, no UX or tech background. I do have experience researching developing country users and some interesting project experience in online safety (online extremism and misogyny). I expressed interest in developing safer internet products. This is a dream come true!

I'm honestly surprised that I got waitlisted, as in, I was expecting a reject lol. It's a very difficult program to get into, so congrats to everyone that got an admit today! :D I'm gonna join the waitlist and see what happens :)

3 years of working experience as product designer. Admitted to HCID but got rejected from HCDE

waitlisted. Exhausting to wait but there could be some hope. I heard there were over 1000 applicants this year. UX Lab Intership, Tech Company Intership and have been several times awarded. Design-based, attended 7+ industry projects at university. I submitted Duolingo 125, and TOEFL 102.

majoring in public health, worked on relevant user experience projects within healthcare and asked professors to work on projects related to HCI outside my major.
