I guess they look how many people accept the offers they have made so far and, if places remain, assign these accordingly. We don't have great chances, but let us learn from it: Applying next year early! Applications open in September!

I'm a UK student and was rejected last year ( i applied on the last day then too and they got back to me all the way in early June) so the longer the wait the more I'm terribly nervous about getting rejected again. E-mail the Department on 18/04 to ask about the outcome of my application, the portal said "Under review by the Department" since December. Got a response on 30/04 saying that the proposed supervisor would not be able to make me an offer.

My application turned to " Under review by degree committee". Does it mean I will be accepted ? What does the committee evaluate ? . Thanks for any response.

To all who are waiting to hear about funding for MPhils, your best bet is to call student registry directly, and not the Trust (who are not administering domestic MPhil funding this year, it would appear-apart from very specific degree programmes). Registry helpfully informed me that most of the funding has been allocated, and that I had not been nominated by the department for funding. Student registry will be useful because they administer Newton College funding, which is the main source for MPhils. Good luck to everyone else!

Re. the Engineering post. The committee has to approve of a supervisor's selection and they can reject. GAO is sort off automatic after department's decision.
