First school I've heard from, financial aid details coming in the mail.

After being in the waitlist for almost 3 months, I got an email saying "After a final review of your application, I regret to inform you that Committee on Admissions will not be able to admit you to the Class of 2009 at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism... Unfortunately, we have reached the number of students for the class and do not have remaining openings"

I was accepted off the waitlist!! Now must decide between Columbia and Northwestern.

The School told me that the waitlist will remain open until August 10th

Nothing official from Columbia yet. Called their office yesterday and tried to deal with a woman who was near impossible to talk to. Later on I got an e-mail saying offers would come out early July.

Have any students on the Journalism waitlist heard anything yet?

I was waitlisted, and I think I just got accepted for Winter admission...YAYYYY

was guaranteed admission for Winter and waitlisted for Fall but just found out I'm accepted for Fall quarter. woo hoo!

Thanks for the reply! I did send in a letter a week ago along with another rec letter, so I guess we'll see what happens. Good luck on Columbia!

to the person with the question below, i was offered a spot for this summer, with classes beginning June 21st. it's so soon, so i'm still holding out for a possible spot in the fall class--she said she'd let me know by may 15. if you're really itching to get into NW, you might want to write a letter explaining why this is your top choice school and what new things you've done since you applied (i didn't do this and got lucky with a call, but i did write a letter to columbia to hopefully get off their wait list). good luck!
