Sorry about that, I'm the USC admitted poster below. I got an auto-email to check the portal, where there was a generic acceptance letter (Dated Feb. 5). It didn't have any details about what group I got admitted to, or what the funding is. I had a couple of interviews with Optics professors for the fellowship program about a month ago, and I applied right before the deadline ~Dec. 15. I didn't have any publications, but the Professors who wrote my LORs were all pretty well regarded.

To the USC ECE PhD Fall admit below: Congrats on your admit. They replied with your admission letter when you mailed to check status? I had 2 interviews in early Jan for the fellowship but haven't heard back anything yet. Can you provide a little info about whether you had any interview and your admission had any mention of funding/fellowship? That would be helpful.

TTPB: Congrats! When did you submit the application and what were you stats?

My area of interest is optics, and I interviewed with a couple professors in that area in late December or early January.

TTPB: Can you share your profile/specialization? Also did you contact PoI or had an interview? It's just weird they are sending acceptances on weekends.

To USC EE PhD commentor: applied for electromagnetics track, but was contacted by professor in photonics. Co-authored 1 publication in nanophotonics with undergrad electrical engineering background

Interview with PI over video chat. EE department fellowship nominations are due January 4, so professors are interviewing their top candidates before then

Dual Degree (BTech+MTech) from one of top 5 IITs. 1.5y work exp as Research Engineer. Received an email from one of the POIs asking for interview in the last week of Dec. Hope it goes well!

I messaged VASE and they responded that my decision has been made and if we don't see the result in YouSc portal my tomorrow night we gotta submit a request and follow up with admission department by filling a form using a link. Any EEs still waiting ?
