The offer email was in my spam folder. I checked my decision with PSU.

No GRE, First Class 3.61 , one year research experience. abstract publication, TA experience

Rejected by the Ph.D. program but offered admission to the MA program instead. Will decline for sure.

Received an interview invite from a PI with computational research interests aligned with my own. I had no prior contact with this professor. Double math chem major with 2 pubs (one first author) and another under review.

I have a masters gpa of 8.38/10 from IIT Madras and B. tech from one of the NIT in India. 1 paper in an international peer reviewed journal of high impact factor(5.9) and a couple more being prepared. Research is strongly aligned with the potential advisor and had an email discussion prior to applying where in he asked to apply and mention his name in SOP. He sent me the interview link for fully funded phd and told me he would like to discuss a few topics (of which he sent me a pdf).

Applied for a thesis-program, but it isn't being offered this year, so the fast-paced MS program was offered as an alternative.

Has anyone heard from Penn State, PI LC?

Rejected after a Zoom interview with faculty. Faculty were very considerate and took time to send me a nice "thanks but no" email, rather than let me wait until the admissions system sent out the standard rejection.
