Got an email early in the AM of Jan 21st asking for an interview the 24th or the 26th.

Zoom with POI last summer, more correspondence with them and one other PI recently. MA with 3.9 GPA, two publications and conference presentation. Independent ongoing research. Generic rejection email. I believe my current research wasn't the best fit, but who knows.

Had the chance to meet POI last week. Was told I had a good application and left feeling confident about getting in. Received an email this afternoon about a change in my application status only to find a generic rejection letter. Very disappointed. Not even put on any waitlist. Good job to those who got in this year.

3.9 in major GPA, independent undergrad research, research industry work exp, 2.5 years of related volunteer work, strong SOP representing my ethics/motivations for the degree and career in Anthro. booooo :(

Received email; interview scheduled for next week
