ignore wl. Has anyone being rejected or anyone heard of others being rejected by this program? I'm worrying are they gonna release all rejections at the end.....

For those who are still waiting for their decisions, most of the admitted students were given their deadline of paying deposit. Could be mid-April or even end-April, depending on the date we received the decision. So if you didn't get the decision, maybe you are somewhere in the waitlist.

No CS background (degree), couple of Computational and Machine Learning Projects, 1 publication in Elsevier, 8.85/10, tier 1 uni from India

ignore WL. Got the following email from MScAC program team - "Thank you for your patience with our admissions review process. Your application remains under review. Due to the volume of applications we have received this year, the admissions committee has been slightly delayed in their reviewing schedule, and currently applications are still being assessed. At this time, we are hoping to have final decisions communicated to all applicants by mid-April."

Ignore WL. Emailed the admissions department and got this reply: "We are unable to provide an exact date of when your application decision will be available nor can we expedite the application review process. Applications are reviewed by a small admissions committee. The review process typically requires 6-8 weeks after the priority deadline date for a decision to be provided. Be assured, you will be notified of the result of your application review as soon as possible." The priority deadline was Jan 15 and 8 weeks since then is Mar 12. It's been 12 weeks now and still no response :/

Emailed the grad admissions office and received this reply: Thank you for your email. The admissions process is an ongoing process, we hope to have all notifications out within the next two weeks.

My GPA was mediocre/below average tbh and I had a few C's in my record (which I elaborated in my Statement of Purpose), but I think what made my application strong was not only my high GRE quantitative score, but a relatively strong background related to Data Science: while I did have C's in my record (and a couple were major-related as a Computer Science major though not related to Data Science fortunately), I had strong grades in my computational/math courses especially the ones essential to Data Science (I'm also a math major as well so I definitely took a good amount of computational/math courses). I also had a strong programming background, especially being a Computer Science major, and did research and independent study opportunities related to Data Science (and I discussed about them in-depth in my Statement of Purpose) as well with a couple of personal side projects. I wouldn't say that I'm an expert or outstanding in Data Science yet (more like beginner to intermediate level), but I at least had some sort of foundation or sufficient-enough background for me to somehow stand out in my application. I think the professors and my independent study mentor, who I asked to write letter of recommendations for me, like me enough to give me strong letters of recommendations (I couldn't see since I waived my rights for all of them), so that definitely helps. I hope this helps for future applicants. :)

ignore wl. TTPB: Do u know what does it mean by 'graduate student strikes'? Does it mean there are too many applicants or is there something else happening?
