TTPB: I applied for the mscs program and, last week, I received an email from the admission office saying that they would postpone the decision deadline to the end of March due to COVID-19. However, several weeks ago, there was a person on grad cafe stating that UIUC had already sent out all the offers. So I really have no idea about whether they just postpone our rejections or there will be more offers.

Just received the rejection. Expected but still sad. Looks like most of the undergrad admits come from top US universities, which I don't. "Thank you for applying to the MS in Computer Science program at Stanford University. The MSCS Admissions Committee has reviewed your application and we are sorry to inform you that the committee did not recommend you for admission. The number of applicants far exceeds the number of those we can admit, which makes the admissions process a difficult and painstaking one. As a result, many strong candidates must be turned down."

Any info as to whether UIUC is done sending admits for MS CS? Or can we still expect another round of admits?

Expected. Still waiting for UIUC, Michigan and UT Austin before finalizing.

Applied for PhD, admitted to course-based MS. Any thoughts on if the course-based is worth it working towards a PhD program? Accepted at a general MS elsewhere which has a thesis option, so may just do that unless CU is much less expensive

Are applicants who applied for the PhD but rejected notified again about Masters decisions?

Got admitted to Research based Masters. But mostly going for UMass CS.

To the post below comparing NEU and Boulder, I think if you plan to do Ph.D in the future, it would be quite important that you choose a program that has a research component. In terms of job hunting, NEU will enjoy the advantage of the location (either Seattle or Boston) as well. If the NEU offer is research-based I would go for NEU. But that's just my thoughts, you may be looking for other factors as well
