Actually starting January 2021. Received email to check website. As I had other offers, I had contacted NYU two weeks earlier and they expedited my application.

Accepted for Dual Genre concentration in Fiction and Creative Nonfiction to begin 1/21. Application submitted 8/31/20. Received phone call from director of the program.

Received an email to check application status in the portal. Very cold form letter from Dean of Grad School.

Was #4, then #3, then #2 on waitlist within a few weeks. Was told they weren't going to the list anymore due to COVID. Then got a call last week! Still surprised but it's the right time to just go.

After being waitlisted in April. 0a/0w/7r/0p

Accepted into Columbia off of the waitlist. Emailed by director Victor LaValle.

Accepted off the waitlist this morning. This is so crazy, but I'm unsure if I'll be able to go until I hear about funding. Still so stoked. This was a dream.

I don't know if I'll take it, as they said there's no funding in the present or future.

I was interviewed yesterday!

Received emails from Adam Clay and Josh Bernstein. Full tuition waiver and assistantship.

Accepted via e-mail portal.

Well that's it.

Finally heard back that all the finalists accepted. It's a weird feeling, but a good one. This was the last thing holding me from another top choice program. So no love lost.

off the waitlist

Alice Elliott Dark called today to tell me that I got off the waitlist!! I am equally shocked and excited.

They won't be going to the waitlist this year. Absolutely gutted.

Figured I was rejected given how long it took to be notified. Still sad to see this door close. With that, though, my season is over with 3a/1w/6r.
