TTPB about PhD - it is true that they might be considering you for MS. It is one of the main reasons why I applied for PhD here, knowing that my chances of getting an admit for that are very low. I had confirmed this with them via mail last August, before the application season.

Did everyone receive the rejection? UPenn usually sends out all rejects together (looking from past years) but I have not received any update yet. Anyone else in the same situation?

Has anyone received a rejection on the application portal? I have not heard anything from UMD and contacted a POI. He informed me that I should assume I have been rejected if I have not received an acceptance letter.

First admit of the season, so relieved. Guys don't worry, they're doing it in phases. Once your status changes to Update Pending, you'll get the decision as admit or reject before that your application hasn't been opened. I didn't get any email. I was checking the website every hour and saw the change. 2 days ago I got Update Pending on the website. Today at 3:30 PM IST it changed to accept.

The person getting MS thesis (computer science)at UIC, how were you informed about the thesis part, because I wanted to do a thesis as well but my admit letter didn't specify anything about it other than that a person would be appointed as an adviser which probably happens for every student.

TTPB: It seems so far that EVERYONE seems to have gotten an interview from people I know in real life + everyone in forums/gradcafe. Is there anyone out there who applied that DID NOT get an interview?
