not going into detail but my friend had neither of those things. research experience makes up for a lot in their books.

Can we accept a university's offer and still be in consideration for admits in other schools? Like, there's no maintained central admit database for all schools, right?

TTPB: Interviews have been given to everyone that has applied to the program and most of those people are not getting in. I think what the poster below is saying is that it's kind of cruel for Columbia to raise our hopes like that. At this point, I don't think there will be many more acceptances since a ton have gone out already. And the people getting accepted now still have top tier stats (close to 4.0 GPA and 335+ GRE)

2 years of work exp. as a data scientist. 1 publication. 2 good LoRs. No information about funding.

Rejected....Disappointed

calm down dude. my friend who applied for the nlp track got an admit in april first week and i've applied for the same as well. my interview had a deadline of 3/27 and I'm fairly certain they hand out interviews for good reason.

Checked the result via the application status portal. Kinda expected given that late result seldom means good things lol. Have better offers, but it pisses me off that they couldn't even bother to send out an email about status update.

Rejected for MCS Professional degree

Awful. Yocket showed a 71% chance of admit. I know it's not a metric by any means but I had high hopes.

Ambitious reject. We've paid you about $200, least we could expect was an email about status update.

Safe option. I have offers from wayyy better places. I'd suggest not applying here as they have a small batch size that heavily favours Cali residents and their own UG students. Also just like any other UC, GPA is all that they care about with no consideration for your profile.
