Patience pays off! I finally got in off of the wait list! First got the email about a financial aid package, which was substantial. Then the portal let me know I had received an offer. No due date on when to accept it by, but I did it immediately with my deposit. | ||||

First communication from them since March re: wait list after sending 2 emails. "We’ve received many positive responses by those who have been admitted and while it is unlikely we will be making additional admission offers from the wait list, the Admissions Committee will continue to consider candidates as others decline our offer." I was asked to confirm whether I wanted to remain or leave the wait list. | ||||

3 publications. 2 years of research experience. My application was a bit confusing: my experience is in one area, and my intended area is another one. However, I was expecting a different response. Anyway, I was accepted in a top 15 university. Recommendation to other PhD applicants for the next year: apply where you have connections. If there is faculty that knows you or your recommenders, is the key. At least in my experience. Hope this is useful to someone. | ||||
