Is there a group for MS CS F20 incoming students?

Don't worry, they are still sending positive results today. And this is my first admission after consecutive 9 rejection. Gonna cry. Applied MS/PhD, admitted to MS. March 29 academic plan changed from PhD and MS to only MS. March 30 spire status changed to "update pending", April 1 received an email of status change, April 2 log in to spire and found accepted. It's said they have reviewed all applications on March 30, and all results will be demonstrated before April 2. It is possible that if you academic plan changed to MS, you would be admitted to MS program. Since I heard my friend got rejected with academic plan still showing PhD and MS.

TTPB: This is frustrating. They're taking this long for those who even have a supervisor. I am in the same boat. Did you contact your supervisor?

Program: MSCS. Was my reach school and tbh I wasn't expecting to get in without any published papers anyway. They really rejected a lot of good profiles it seems. No way I had a shot.

Declined on SPIRE following a status change email. Had 2 decent 1 and 2 author publications and an LoR highly respected HPC professor from a top-10 undergrad school for CS. Would've probably rejected the offer anyway since I already have an offer from UT Austin which is a better school overall.

I don't know what's going on. I applied 4 months ago and i did not receive any result from the university. I asked the department and they just said be patient!!! I have supervisor.

TTPB: From what I've read in various forums, less than 10% of people get off the waitlist. Sometimes, they don't take anyone off at all. It's a matter of pride for the schools to announce that they didn't have to go to the waitlist. And they send out acceptances to people they think are most likely to accept. So I would advise: don't get your hopes up. If you have other options, consider them. I have other acceptances and will be making a decision before the end of this week.

Shouldn't the results be out by now? This is just lazy, they should atleast notify us that the results are delayed.

Expected but devastating. 2 ML Research Internships (IISc, CSIR), 3 Industry Internships (Google Brain, 2 Startups), Good LoRs, probably done in by Low GRE and college reputation. Good luck to all of you who got in! Stay safe from COVID-19.

Rejected. My advice for future aspirants is dont apply to this university if your gpa is low. Looks like they have a hard threshold for GPA. I repeat donot apply with a low gpa. I had a paper at ICCV and 1 year of solid research experience and 2 years of industrial experience at companies like Microsoft, Mercedes Benz. From an IIT (Not the top 5 ones)

Got the status change mail, said update pending than converted to generic declined message. Applied with 1 publication in Springer on NLP.
