TTPB: Did you apply in gravity?

Astro. First author paper on ApJ

GRE scores superscored. 14 advanced courses above undergraduate algebra/analysis and 2 published articles.

So excited!

I had an interview with my potential PI and received a congratulatory today. Fully funded but details will follow in coming weeks (I'll share). Masters in an allied field from a mid-level school. Research interests mattered more in the decision than anything else (apparently). 1a/2r/8p.

1st round casual interview

interviewed a week ago and just got the news :) very, very thankful. i was really disheartened by getting rejected from everywhere else

Expected based on the admits being posted here. 60% more applicants this year than in prior years, oof.

Not a shock. Didn't hear anything earlier. Still have 9 to go.

3.9 major gpa, NSF REU at penn state. Two letters from famous professors in CME. I applied over two months earlier.

hep-ex

A little surprised at this, 3.6 GPA, 3 years of research, 2 REUs, 1 1st author publication, 1 2nd author publication in the works, 3 strong LOR, and connections to the astro dept. and area of interest that the department is strong in. Interesting note: they apparently got 60% more applicants this year than they usually do.

Hi, has anyone received any reply whatsoever from PSU? If yes, could you please specify when did you apply?

Invited to virtual open house. Interviewed earlier this week. This is my top choice, so I'm pretty excited about moving forward in the process with them.

Notified through email. acceptance letter attached. Funding decision pending and will be notified within a month. Prompted to apply for scholarships for alternative funding sources.
