3 research paper. 2 great project. 4 internship (1 @ FAANG). thought this was safe college. really disappointed!!!

CS undergrad from a state school, 0 publications, had 1 research project (not really research but it was a project), First GRE: 162Q 150V 5.0AW, Second GRE: 159Q 157V 5.5AW. Just realized how expensive this is gonna be.

Please ignore the "waitlist"(did not receive any communication from the university regarding the status of my application so far )Invited to apply to the PhD in Data Science program (with a fee waiver) in addition to my previous application to the CS dept. Has anybody else also experienced this?

- 3.66/4.3 GPA. - Industrial Engineering background, but 3 years experience as a data scientist at a start-up. - not much publications, but a few AI products launched and research projects.

1.5 years of research ex, no publications, 1 internship, good SOP

2 Interviews, RA/TA offer

IGNORE: Has anyone heard back from UCLA, UCSB, UCSD??? Radio silence from these 3

PI told me that I have been accepted and an offer letter will be sent towards the end of this week.

email from PI saying accepted

Interview with PI in the weeks following acceptance

Was introduced to POI via networking, interviewed well before submitting the application. Stipend has been increased (relatively) after the UC strikes. All the best.
