I applied before the January deadline and didn't have an interview. I had very high Computer Science course grades, but my Mathematics courses weren't so brilliant (Most of them were B's and there were even two C's). I had lead-authorship in a conference publication, a co-authored pending journal publication, many research projects, teaching experience, professional experience, many area-related competition awards, and social accomplishments.

Check your mail. Right after you apply, UMD sends a mail with both the IDs. The mail is titled, "Here is your UMD Applicant UID/Applcation ID".

I agree wholeheartedly with TPB who stated that Georgia tech and UMass-Amherst should have just released their results rather than notifying us that the results will be released later in the day, it's really unnecessary to string people along for half a day. You can just send an email once the results are ready, instead, the extra 6-12 hours of notice is really just more painful than anything else

I have waited for about 3 months. Now I received the rejection letter with status of none of the professors was interested in my application. I think the professors of this university strictly assess the SOP. Writing an excellent SOP might brought me admission. good luck!

I dont understand why schools like GATech and Amherst first send an email that decision has been made and then later reveal the decision. Just put us out of misery already and inform us when all the processing has been done!

TTPB: Does anyone know to get the University of Maryland UID as I would like to apply to one of the programs mentioned in the reject email by Tom Hurst? I was able to find the apply yourself id but not the UID. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mine also changes to "Update Pending", Applied for MS/PhD. Seems like its going to be a mass reject only as many people are getting updates simultaneously

If everyone's receiving a decision at the same time; it's highly likely that a large percentage, if not all, would be rejects.

MS/Ph.D. applicant here. Status updated to "Update Pending" today about six hours back. Are there MS/Ph.D. applicants whose status has not been updated? From last years results, I can see that MS/Ph.D. applicants were given accepts around April 10th.

TTPB - I too applied for MS-PhD, hoping to get into MS. Status went into "Update pending" sometime this morning. No change in the academic plan, so only expecting a reject at this point.

TTPB: I got an update pending yesterday without any notification. Today, they sent a notification email.

As of 04/08/2020, the status of your application is Update Pending. I hope it's not mass reject.

My status just changed to update pending without any notification. There is no change in Academic Field either. Applied to MS/PhD, hoping to get into masters since my profile wasnt strong enough for PhD but was confident for an offer to Masters regardless. But seems like I have to brace for an unexpected reject :(
