Standard rejection email upon enquiring about application status.

Undergraduate degree from a top tier Canadian university. Notified via email to check the portal for official acceptance letter. Absolutely love the program and the school. Excited to attend!

To the waitlisted applicant below: Congrats for being waitlisted out of the 150 applicants. Wish you all the best and you get selected off the waitlist. Please, could you share your credentials to understand the nature of admission expectations of this university for next year? Thank you.

"you are in the top 20% of nearly 150 applicants, which means we were highly impressed by your application and would have no hesitation in accepting you should the opportunity still arise..." But they only have 8 slots:(

3 - 4 years’ RA-ship, must accept/decline by March 8

"I am very sorry to inform you that your application to our graduate program was not successful this year. Admission is highly competitive and we scrutinize each application carefully; we received 149 applications for a total of eight places for this year’s incoming class, so we have had to reject many excellent and highly qualified candidates." Got this when I was checking my email before going to bed. How can I sleep now?! I need a shoulder to cry on :(

8 places. 149 applicants.

Email with offer, no update to the website

Has anyone heard from Wharton Applied Economics in any form (interview, acceptance, rejection)? Refreshing my email every 30 seconds right now, haha, so thanks in advance for any info!

That's right. I will do that. There is forum here "UBC IRES". We can discuss further there.
