competitive program :( I have other offers tho

Waiting to hear about financial aid to make a decision. I have relevant leadership grassroots organization founding directing experience for refugee children and lots of related work experience and grassroots work.

SO HAPPY!! I can't believe it! Waiting for aid letter in Late March/April :)))

I don't think I was a good fit for the program and vice versa. A little sad but rejection IS redirection!!

Yippee! 4a/0r/0p

Well I mean I expected a rejection, so this pretty optimistic news!

email to check portal 0a/0w/8r/1p. It is OVER.

Perfect match with POI. Might reapply next year...

Accepted with 16k per year scholarship. International, background is from outside EAS. Good match with POI's research. Thankful!

GPA is MS. Not surprised since I didn’t interview, but I’m pretty sure I’m striking out this season. Congrats to anyone who got into their program! 0a/7r/1p

Was holding out a little hope. Sad I didn't get in, but thankful I have other places to go. 4a/0w/4r/3p

emailed that an update was made to the portal

Interviewed 2.10 and genuinely thought it went well. Proposed research: 19th- 20th-century American poetry; my writing sample brought existentialist thought - especially the work of Jean-Paul Sartre - into discourse with American poetics. All the indicators looks good. Then... no waitlist, no unofficial offer... I understand since before the decision came out that I had made the finalist pool but not the admit pool or waitlist (about 2 people were admitted from what I've heard; yet, if you look at the website, about 10-15 professors are seeking advisees... meaning only 2 professors, probably very distinguished, had the negotiating power to have their pick... the person I chose as a potential advisor probably didn't have the bandwidth or the care for philosophical approaches that my dissertation gestured toward...). I know now how to position myself for next cycle (I only applied to one English program this cycle, Harvard's); next time I'll be applying to all 8 Ivy English PhDs and will write dissertations that draw from the work of more senior level professors to ensure I get in.... just putting this all here because it really is a journey, and nobody was there to advise me exactly on how to go about it :)

Received email to check online portal. Rejection said, "After careful review, I regret to inform you that the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is unable to take favorable action on your application to the Program in English for the 2026-2027 academic year. I realize that this final decision may come as a disappointment. Please rest assured that your application received full consideration by faculty members in the program to which you applied. We appreciate your interest in the Graduate School and wish you success in your future studies." 5r/0w/0a/1p - let's hope the last school likes me!
