Portal update no email

I checked the portal. It said "Your application has been reviewed, and the committee has denied admission."

It was my last resort and now, I don’t know what i will do. “ Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in the Chemistry Graduate Program at Iowa State University and for the time and effort you invested in your application and for attending our virtual open house. We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to our program at this time. The applicant pool this year was highly competitive, and our admissions decisions were primarily based upon available space within the program and alignment with the needs of our research groups. Please note that should additional spots in our program open up, we may reach out to you in April with an offer of admission. While we cannot guarantee further consideration, we wanted to be transparent and keep you informed of this possibility.”

Got an email at morning that I had been recommended for admissions from my interviewer, a week after visit weekend (1/31). Super excited!

Called to say I was recommended for admission. Physical chem.

Organic division. Notified via an email titled "Caltech's Admission Offer Has Been Posted". Super excited!
