I had several informal interviews with my potential PI and was informed in late March that I had been placed on the waitlist. At that time, however, the ASU portal still showed my application as “In Review.” Throughout the process, I was not able to learn much about my status through the administrative office; when I asked, I was only told that my application was still with the committee. In practice, the only meaningful updates I received came from my potential PI. For those applying to SGSUP next year, I would strongly recommend staying in touch with your potential PI, since the official channels may not provide much clarity about where your application stands.

Had to email to find out any information, the portal is not updated. Not likely I'll make it off the waitlist, but this cycle is rough all around— just wish I had known I was waitlisted in the first place

I was notified via e-mail that I was waitlisted and had between a 10% and 20% chance of getting in.
