Insanely impersonal, rude, and obvious that they don't care because that application money has already been paid. "Your application for the program listed below has been denied. We understand this might be a disappointing outcome. Please contact the program directly if you have any questions about this decision."

3.95 MA GPA. Several high honor awards as an undergrad and extensive TA experience. Email to check portal. Quarter of a page, generic letter that didn't even note the Sociology program.

Checked portal and saw denial, got a message a minute later to check the portal. Not surprised, not my best SOP. Local applicant, previous acceptance to different masters program at UO. 4.0 gpa masters in soc. My interest is super niche though and I’m holding out hope as the last two schools I’m waiting on are my top picks. 5r/0a/2 to go

No interview. An admission letter from the graduate school was sent via email. No update on the portal. Research interests: climate change, environmental sociology, mixed-methods.

Didn’t get a notice, checked the portal and saw a decision letter. I applied straight out of undergrad so I’m not surprised, but I did have a good bit of research experience ( 2 RA positions, 2 PI positions from a fellowship I received twice, multiple conference presentations and panels, submitted my honors senior thesis as my writing sample). Congratulations to all that got accepted!
