Accepted after a brutal montage of interviews, eventually obtaining a year-long fellowship to convince them to accept me. Would not do again lol. As far as advice goes, I wish I had applied for more funding, and I am glad I emailed prospective advisors and followed-up with them.

Applied for PhD but offered Masters. Asked for Integrated masters, but they refused.

I also have paralegal certification, decade of work history, and was relatively involved with extracurricular activities in undergrad

Ignore decision (kinda?) I called and they said that they are meeting with the grad director today to make decisions on sending out two more offers, so applicants should hear back soon.

Talked to PI with whom I had an interview few months ago. They have taken only one candidate from condensed matter theory this year. Currently I am in waiting list with top priority. Please reject the offer if you are (that candidate) no longer interested at MSU.

Emailed a professor i had an informal interview with back in december asking for an update. Was informed i was on the waitlist. I know everyone says this, but please if you know youre not going decline the acceptance. This is my #1 school and may be my only hope this cycle

Please decline if you were accepted and have dominating offers elsewhere. I am right next in the waitlist and this is my top choice. GPA is grad.
