Ignore the status... Did anyone receive any update?

I had the first interview with PI in January and the second interview last week. I received the verbal offer on the same day, and I received the official offer today.

A Rejection without any interview. It is a little out of my expectation, since I had some communication with PI via email. It seems like Brown is more selective than I expected.

Planetary Sciences background. No interview received. Should have reached out to PI early. I think the admission in Brown is mainly controlled by the professor not the committee.

Received an email from PI first weekend of February saying I was unoffically accepted, then received official offer letter on 2/14 from update to my portal.

This one really stings. I had been in touch with a potential advisor within the program that seems deeply interested in my application, and I thought I had a good feeling about this one.

Spoke with someone actively looking for a student too.

Had great interview with PI in the fall, research project aligned... Not necessarily surprised about this one but still stings.

Contacted informally by the PI ~1 week ago about the acceptance, more acceptance details to come in late Feb
