Graduate School Admission Results

First time applicant. Completed a 2-year SLPA diploma, then a post-diploma Bachelor's degree program (60 credits) through Athabasca University. 7 years of experience as an SLPA in schools. 1st Quartile Casper.

BA in Communication. Research assistant with a linguistics lab since fall 2023. Volunteered with adults with aphasia since summer 2024. GPA is hard to calculate because I went back to school to do the prereqs for the program (current GPA is 4.26/4.33 ; GPA from my BA was 3.69/4.33). Accepted this offer, declined one from another Canadian school.

Submitted with an average of 93% (not on GPA scale) with an Education undergrad. I had 3 yrs of experience working with kids and adults experiencing disabilities, 1 summer experience volunteering at Speech Pathology camps, along with classroom and family experience through my undergrad practicums.

3.8 sGPA, 5 years experience working with neurdivere children (respite, lead instructor, casefile manager, BI, family support worker), 1 year experience working on reserve as an SLPA, 60 hours research experience in BALA

1.5 years working as an SLPa, shadowed 4 SLPs, in 2 research labs, volunteered in 2 aphasia conversations groups, volunteered at a rehabilitation centre 1:1 with a patient with apraxia. From BC

Will be declining this offer as I already accepted another offer.

SLP-A background, experience with stroke recovery groups, social groups for kids, and a bit of research experience & grad level coursework. Very excited, waiting to hear back elsewhere before making a decision

First time Canadian applicant (Ontario)! Received an email on Friday March 26th with an acceptance. Will have to make a decision which school to accept. Good luck everyone!

first time applicant from alberta. stats mark was not the greatest so thinking that was a factor.

Apparently was disadvantaged because a course was in progress. Would love to have known this before dropping over $500 on an online course and another $100 on the application.

Applicants who had multiple prerequisites in progress were disadvantaged when compared to those with completed preparatory coursework. When preparatory courses have been completed, the Admissions Committee can be more confident that the applicant has the basic knowledge necessary to succeed in our challenging training program.
