  • TPb: Finally got the email. Was rejected from Ph.D. program but accepted into the Master's program. "Your application to the School of Liberal Arts PhD program at Tulane University has been reviewed by the Economics department. As you may know, the competition for admission to selective graduate programs is strenuous and a limited number of positions are available each year. Because of the high quality of our applicant pool this year, the department was unable to recommend your admission to the Economics PhD program. However the application committee was impressed with your application and would like to offer you admission to the MA Policy Economics program. The Economics MA program is a wonderful opportunity for those interested in ultimately obtaining a PhD. The MA program does not offer any fellowships or teaching assistantships but the tuition is considerably lower than the PhD program tuition. For the 2019-2020 academic year the tuition is $18,308 plus fees. If you would like to consider an admission offer to the MA Policy Economics program, please contact me at: aschumac@tulane.edu for more information. "

  • TPb: Correct - there are still offers that have yet to be accepted/rejected. While I didn't get to confirm where I stand yet (since I've heard nothing) there is a chance applicants are waiting on other offers or financial packages, like I am, from other programs.

  • TPb: I called the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) after speaking to someone at the Econ department today and after a few roundabouts, I finally got a hold of the graduate admission in SLA. While they point to Dr. Edwards for more clarity, the program has already sent out their offers. However, some of those offers are still pending. What this could mean is everyone here may still have a chance (seeing that Dr. Edwards has yet to respond to anyone so far) or he may just not want to give us the news we are all rejected. Either way, I have another program but there are some loose threads there to wait for. Emailing is still the best bet because he's apparently never in his office.

  • Hello Everyone, I applied 02/27/2019, I had the status of validated until 04/11/2019, when I was accepted and my status changed to Accepted. I have already a Master in economics from UAB, though my GRE was a disaster, and my graduate GPA is 3.4. I accepted the offer with fee waiver and full stipend tuition. Good luck to everyone!
