History, University Of Chicago Obtaining directly related professional degree. Was accepted to UChicago's MAPSS program after being rejected for PhD in history. Received 15K in scholarship and opportunity to apply for further funding. However, I'm not feeling optimistic (as neither funding nor a PhD path are guarenteed). I'm literally only posting this in case it helps someone in my situation years down the line.

Political Science, University Of Chicago Rejected from PhD program, Accepted for the UChicago MAPSS Program, Comparative Politics. Got 15k Research Scholarship funding award but would ask for whether additional funding might be available. Otherwise all tuition would be too costly.

History, University Of Chicago Previous MA GPA 4.0. PhD deferral to the MAPSS program. Offered me $15k as a scholarship. Tuition is 68k. Chicago was a dream school for a long time but I got into funded PhD program elsewhere. Man cannot live by T20 prestige alone.

MAPSS History, University Of Chicago I applied straight from undergrad. I was rejected from the History PhD and I was offered a $15k scholarship--- the price is still egregious lmao! Luckily I did get into a PhD program so I will be declining this offer I fear.

MAPSS Sociology, University Of Chicago thank god. all phd apps have been rejections so far, so this is a backup in case i dont get into any. rejected from chicago's sociology phd and application was put through to the masters pool
