UC San DiegoPhysics, PhD (F19)Other via Other on 13 Mar 2020 O13 Mar 2020
  • TTPB: My checklist also disappeared from the portal today. I called a couple days ago to ask if I was denied, and they just said “We accept people on a rolling basis.”

MissPhysics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 13 Mar 2020 O12 Mar 2020
  • does anyone have an update on University of Mississippi ( Ole miss) . I assume I am not accepted if I have not received an offer by now. but my emails have not been responded by the graduate program director. Id rather know directly that Im rejected/waitlisted. I mean even though the odds say I'm declined but that small bit of hope puts me in suspense and drives me crazy. so if anyone out there has been informed about being denied, wait-listed or anything please let me know

  • The checklist disappeared from my applicant portal. What does that mean? It means I have been rejected?
Baylor UniversityPhysics, PhD (F20)Other via E-mail on 4 Mar 2020 U12 Mar 2020
  • Well, prior to deciding to go to Baylor I would suggest to make an informed decision. Firstly, Baylor’s physics department is ranked 126, so it’s probably whatever other offers are from better ranked departments, plus from a person living in Texas, Waco is really not an exciting city to look forward to. I think that most applying to Baylor aren’t aware of these facts

  • I was the poster from long ago asking if UW was worth the wait... Good to have closure, especially since I "survived" the massive batch of rejections a month ago. Hep-Th / Relativity. No publications.
Tufts UniversityPhysics, PhD (F20)Wait listed via E-mail on 11 Mar 2020 A12 Mar 2020
  • TTPB: I received an email saying I was not in the first round of admissions but am "at the very top of the waitlist"
University Of California DavisPhysics, PhD (F20)Wait listed via E-mail on 9 Mar 2020 I12 Mar 2020
  • TTPB: They sent me a generic email stating that I am on their waitlist. I just saw that they sent the same email to another 40 or 50 email addresses. All the luck to everybody.
University Of Pennsylvania (Penn)Physics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 12 Mar 2020 O12 Mar 2020
  • Does anyone know if Penn is still sending out acceptances or if they are on a wait list. A bunch of rejections went out mid-Feb, but I did not hear anything and I had a chat (interview) with two professors in the admission committee in January.
University Of OregonPhysics, PhD (F20)Other via Other on 12 Mar 2020 U12 Mar 2020
  • TTPB: I don't think the reason you didn't get admission from UO is your GRE, I got admitted to UO last year with pretty low GRE and I received it in late Jan.
University Of California MercedPhysics, PhD (F20)Wait listed via Phone on 12 Mar 2020 U12 Mar 2020
  • Are the decisions delayed due to the outbreak ?

  • I e-mailed Kimberley Crosslan to inquire about my application status. She asked about my research interest to send my application to the relevant admission committee. She replied back that my application will not be selected for the admission process. She also said that they received 400 application and "are anticipating only admitting 26-27 students".
