Physics, New York University Physics & mathematics double major with 5 years of continuous research experience (starting 1 year prior to entering college), two REUs, one non-REU summer research program, one summer school in high-energy theory, and one summer school in mathematics (participated in two programs over some summers). One first-author publication, another in writing, and one poster presentation at an undergraduate research symposium. Three years as a teaching assistant for introductory physics courses, and one semester as a teaching assistant for vector calculus. Wrote and/or significantly contributed to a few pieces of open-source software widely used in the field. Rejected by all 20 schools I applied to this year, and finding it incredibly hard to get a job with a physics/math degree.

Economics, Texas A&M University - College Station (TAMU) Rejecting fully funded offers from MSU, UIUC, UGA, FSU & GSU. Rejecting waitlist offers from UVA & Arizona. Rejected outright from OSU & Georgetown. Econ + Math double major. Two semesters of analysis prior to applying. 1 paper in 2nd round of revision. Low-ranked Undergraduate Institution (>1000 world).

Computer Science, University Of Texas At Austin CS major & 3 minors in cs/math fields. 1 year tutoring through my current university. 1 year industry internship. 1.5 years experience at R1 institution. No publications yet but should soon. Also considered and rejected for masters program.

Biostatistics, University Of Toronto Ontario undergrad with 1 pub. Majored in health science, supplemented my coursework with math and have a lot of experience with statistical programming. Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear back!

Mental Health Counseling, Hunter College randomly checked my portal this morning and saw my decision had posted, the email to check portal arrived about 5hrs later. beyond thrilled that my final pending decision was an acceptance!! 2a/1w/2r
