Got an email from a Prof. Also had a chat with him on 9th morning. Formal letter to arrive in 2-3 days, funding information in about 2 weeks.

Full funding. RAship years 2-5.

I have not heard anything from emory, does this mean I've been rejected?

You can't reject the offer in the portal. You should get another email with login information to a new website where you can accept/decline your offer within a few days of the acceptance letter.

Waitlisted with the following message: "The Admissions Committee of the Department of Economics was very impressed with your application to our program. We cannot admit all qualified applicants, and at this point we have placed you on a waitlist for admission to our Ph.D. program. The applicants recommended by the Admissions Committee are a very impressive group of individuals. We seek to admit a class balanced across subfield interests, and whose research interests match the research interests of our faculty. We have placed you on our waitlist because we believe you have the qualifications to succeed in our program, but your research interests are less well matched with those of our faculty, or you are interested in subfields that have usually high numbers of competitive applicants this year." - No GRE scores submitted, grad GPA 3.77, 2.5 years RA experience. Really hoping a spot opens up! 1a/1w/2r/21p

Has anyone managed to decline Michigan's offer in the portal? I cannot find the option anywhere. Sorry those in the waitlist, I am trying to decline the offer asap so that the funding goes to another candidate but I can't find the decline button :(

The applicant pool for the PhD program was exceptionally strong this year, and unfortunately we are not able to offer you admission into that program. We look at each application holistically and base our decision on a composite of information including your previous academic record, GRE scores, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and other submitted materials. Although you have not been admitted to the doctoral program, based upon your strong record, we are pleased to let you know that you have been admitted to a Masters program
