Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Email to check the portal. Sad of course but expected it.. heard from a colleague at the department that they received around 400 applications this year and were only taking 7, and I'm guessing only a small portion would be internationals. Oh well.. putting my hopes on other applications now. Congrats to those accepted!

I’m on alternate list….Received an email to check the portal. Is there any difference between Alternate list and wait list?

I am currently on the waiting list and was informed that I will need to wait until April for funding decisions. I would like to kindly request that if any accepted students decide to decline their offer (perhaps due to a better opportunity), it would be greatly appreciated if they could do so as early as possible. I would be extremely grateful for any consideration.

This application season has been really tough, and I truly want to pursue a PhD. I swear I will become a passionate scholar who helps others who want to pursue a PhD in the future. When I received the rejection letter before, I cried for a long, long time. I kindly ask those who do not intend to accept their offers to decline them. Thank you so much!

An email noting that CUNY admit less students than other schools at the beginning, they do not admit a large number of applicants and expect the majority to decline. When spot opens up, add from waitlist. Also invite for visiting day. 0a/0r/1wl/10p
