University of California (UCLA) Philosophy Graduate School Admission Results

Very pleasantly surprised. Was not expecting this after the other admissions offers posted on TGC earlier.

Went to UCLA as an undergraduate.

Nothing here. Wish they'd just send out a general update on the process.

I solicited a decision two days ago. Dr. Normore just called me from Australia to tell me the good news. He couldn't have been kinder. (5/7/2w) (1/1 MA)

Thought to post this after seeing Rutgers guy below. I have the same situation with UCLA. I've emailed Kevin Lande about it, who seems to be their point-person on this, but have not heard a response. Anyway, I'm curious (but not too curious... it's depressing to get rejected).

I emailed Dr. Normore to ask about my application. He told me that not only do they not have a wait-list formulated, but they have not made all of their initial offers and expect to make several more. He asked me to convey this to the blogging community.

Phone call from Kevin Lande. Pretty bad reception, but I think he said that while the admissions committee reviewed several qualified applicants, I wasn't one of them.
