Emailed a few days ago asking about the status of my application and was told first round of acceptances already went out and that I would hear results in the next few weeks. Today I received a notification to check the portal and there they posted the rejection letter. Domestic applicant, BA and MA in English, so bit of a long shot for Gender Studies.

Master's GPA: 3.71/4.0. I have two masters and one of them is in Gender Studies.

I got an email referring me to the portal. Honestly, this program was my last choice. (2A,1R,2P)

Just received an email with this letter attached: “The Women & Gender Studies Institute has completed its review of applications to the Ph.D. Program in Women and Gender Studies. I regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you admission to our program this year. We received a large number of strong applications, and were only able to offer admission to a small fraction of our applicants. Thank you for taking the time to apply to our program, and please accept our best wishes for your future studies and endeavors.“

Ignore waitlist, in line with the two posters below, women and gender studies and architecture PhD. Please do update if you happen to hear! Best wishes

US student- application still says "under review". Don't know if I should contact the graduate office by now or not..

I'm a domestic (Canadian) student that got accepted with their typical funding package.

For the previous poster, I am an international student (US) also waiting to hear back from this program... nothing yet! (ignore the 'waitlisted,' for some reason 'other' was not available as an option for the notification section

Have to respond by the March 28th... I have not really decided. In between this and OISE SJE.

WGSI rejected me via email last week (I had to request to receive my application result), but called this morning and offered me admission (with funding).

Has anyone gotten news from UToronto for WGS yet?

Accepted from MA (Canadian citizen) with funding package. They're very welcoming and the graduate coordinator personally called me the next to answer my questions. SO excited!

Has anyone heard from WGSI?

To the person who posted previously - the program posted on their website that they had no funding for international students this year, so they would not be able to take any international students. After the application period, they removed that message from the website. So I would get in touch with the program about trying to get ur application money back. It sucks. :(

Has anyone applying to study a Masters in Women and Gender Studies heard anything yet? I'm an international student and haven't heard anything. Application is still 'Under Review'.
