PI emailed me first about rejection, then received an email from the application portal several hours later. Applied for direct entry PhD with only a B.S., but completed an undergrad thesis and have 2 years of research technician experience. Was told I had a strong application, but department only had funding for 5 international students.

PI emailed me to let me know I didn't receive an international admission slot on 3/26

Domestic - Canadian citizen. 3.7 GPA last 2 years (cGPA dragged down by first year in another program), ~2 years research experience + several related internships. No honours or awards. Accepted with full funding.

Got notified by email today by someone from the committee, getting an official letter soon!

Canadian applicant, 2 years research experience, no publications. Accepted with full funding via unofficial email from graduate chair and follow up email from graduate administrator one day later with official acceptance letter. Excited to be accepting :)

To the poster below in EEB, I met my supervisor yesterday and she told me that she got an e-mail from the head of the admission committee confirming she wanted to supervisor me. She said she got the e-mail last week, so I'm guessing they're really slow with sending official confirmation letters. Maybe check with your POI or e-mail the admission committee the see your status? Has anyone heard from the EEB department (PhD - direct entry)? I had an interview with a faculty in late February (who I had emailed in December), but have heard nothing since. The portal still says "under review". Should I assume a rejection?

Domestic student, obtained M.Sc (with provincial and federal funding), 2 peer-reviewed publications (including a first-authored article), received full funding package (including research assistant-ship from PI). Actual date of notification was May 2019.

Accepted with full funding.
