Non-Canadian applicant to the direct-entry PhD Program, but did my undergrad at UofT and an undergraduate thesis at the Earth Sci department.

International applicant, BSc and MSc at top3 Canadian university. Good gpa and reference letters. I posted about my waitlist status here before. Yesterday I emailed again to check for updates and today got the rejection email from the admission office. Talked with my POI and was told that there were only two international spots for the entire dept. this year, and the priority goes to the younger professors. Tough year, and best of luck to all others who are waiting for results!

TTPB: May I ask, did you contact the generic admissions email address? Earth Sciences admissions email? I contacted the generic admissions email and they responded with the same information available on the website. *Ignore interview

International student with BSc and MSc degrees at the top 3 Canadian university. Was told to expect the result by the end of Feb. Didn't hear anything since then so I emailed the admission office. They told me that I am on the waitlist and will be getting a final result in a few weeks.

First Rejection, I was anticipating this so no surprise there!

Was emailed and was also told that a letter would arrive via mail

No research experience (just work experience) and average grades, so it was to be expected.

One year doctoral-stream MSc. Email from POI. Full funding (minimum $24,000). Looking forward to starting in September!

To the person inquiring about Earth Sciences at U of T. I still have not heard about an MSc. Hopefully we hear sooner than later.

Has anyone have already heard from the SGS?!

Elated! Full financial support package. But the master program duration is only one year. Does someone knows under this circumstance whether it is possible for me to enter PhD stream after that?
