I got a conditional housing offer which required proof of an offer by April 1, so I called the department and they told me that if I was still under consideration at this point, they would have reached out to me to notify me of my acceptance or waitlist status. It's an informal rejection, and it's pathetic that they have people who they are certain they will reject but who they don't consider it worth their time to even notify.

Emailed to find out status as I had another offer I was considering. No prior interview so this decision was unsurprising.

Such outcome was expected as I didn't get interviewed. As an international applicant, I reached out to potential supervisors very late in what has been my first and only application cycle so far. 2a/3w/6r/4wi/2p

It was a long shot. I was coming back after 17 years to apply for the MA Anthropology after my BSc Hons in Archaeological Science from U of T (2006). I hold a PGDip from the University of Edinburgh in another field (B+ GPA). Disappointed for sure. But I gave it my all. Now to decide whether to take some undergrad courses as a non-degree and try again...Or to move on...Sigh.
