Political Cognition and Behavior

GPA is grad. 3A/1W/7P/6R

Applicants who are being considered for admission are given a preliminary assessment => Invitation to check my English speaking abilities. Think it's basically an interview.

I got an email to check the portal. Political Cognition & Behavior primary subfield. I posted earlier about getting a Visitation Day invite over the weekend, so disregard that question!

I got an email invitation to participate in Graduate Visitation Day next month. There is no update in the portal, so I'm not sure if this means acceptance or if this is just an interview. I assume it bodes well for my chances, since they will be paying for travel and accommodations... but I don't want to count my chickens without something more official. Did anyone else hear anything?

My undergraduate GPA was really bad but I managed to improve it in my Master's from 2.44 to 3.29 but It seems it wasn't enough.

I checked on the Merced portal and saw it's awaiting my "Final official transcripts from the UC Merced with degree posted." On the bottom, it asks if I accept/decline the offer of admission and their aid package. I have not received a formal letter/decision from any DGS/Admissions committee. Checked website, no e-mail yet, had a status update with the typical Rejection prose. Losing hope! 0a/0w/2r/5p

Excited to join UC Merced in the fall!

To the person waitlisted for UC Merced, I am one of the admitted students. As I have offers from higher-ranked programs currently, I will most probably decline my offer there. Good luck and hope you get into UC Merced.

Waitlisted and invited to "recruitment event". Not sure what that means.

It was a personalized email from the DGS (CC) with POI cc'ed. It mentioned "formal decision and offer of admissions from the Dean of Graduate Studies will follow soon."

To the Merced Political Science, PhD entry, congratulations! Was your e-mail personalized or was it a mass e-mail. If it was personalized I assume there is still hope for me as they might be rolling them out individually.

I have received an email from POI. I was waitlisted before. I am happy that I am accepted.

Maybe over-qualified, maybe unqualified, or maybe don't fit. Who knows. But it's very sad to hear this from the bottom line school of this application season.

I was being informed by POI. This university is my first choice. I hope I will be accepted. Very nervous!
