Knew it was a long shot. Have 2.5 years of research experience in machine learning, but nothing groundbreaking.

Applied for mathematical physics and reached out to faculty in September last year; still a long shot for me with an engineering background

A bit sad, engineering undergrad background so not too surprised either. Dream school dream program :(((

Seems like today they sent out lots of rejects.

My background mainly focuses on TCS, but I applied for applied mathematics as well.
