Since I hadn't heard anything since my application was under review, I sent an email to the chair of the math department. He responded within a few hours saying I will not be offered a position. This school was the last chance for me, so I will (probably) try again next year... Maybe funding will be less uncertain? No GRE, but I have a MS in math (GPA 3.16). Had emailed with potential advisor. I thought it would be a good fit.
