- I had a 4.0 MS GPA with 10 publications spanning various fields, including algebraic graph theory, fluid dynamics, applied HPC, NLP, and materials science, along with 5+ years of research experience. Ultimately, I believe I wasn’t a good fit for the research focus of this department. While the work on automorphic forms and the Langlands program seemed interesting, I had absolutely no interest in PDEs. I could not really find a single faculty member whose research was outside of these topics and also aligned with my interests.
