Japanese linguistics. MA earned in Japan. I had an informal Zoom meeting with POI in June and met in person at a conference later. I also had a formal interview with the committee on 2/7 and received a congratulatory email from POI today, 2/19. An official letter will be sent in a few weeks, and I was told that I was awarded a four-year package of GA! My GPA is quite low compared to others, but I have a few years of college teaching experience as a faculty member (not TA), two conference presentations, etc.
